EUL: WHY EUL?

European University of Lefke (EUL), as an international education and research institution, is the most popular university in North Cyprus with more than 12,000 students from 5 continents.

The European University of Lefke, founded by the Cyprus Science Foundation, officially started its academic activities in 1990 as a State Foundation University. Since its first day of establishment, the university and all its departments are recognized and accredited by the Council of Higher Education of Turkey (YÖK) and by Higher Education Planning Evaluation Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK).

It is without doubt to declare that EUL is truly an international university, with academic staff from more than 15 different countries and students from over 80 different countries attending the university. EUL is a well-respected Northern Cyprus university which combines academic excellence with very good student support. Over the past few years, EUL has considerable number of accredited programs from reputable international accreditation bodies. EUL Faculty of Engineering has been accredited by MÜDEK.  Faculty of Architecture has been the MiAK, Faculty of Engineering and School of Applied Sciences have been accredited by ASIIN. Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences has been accredited by FIBAA.  English Preparatory School has been accredited by Pearson.

EUL is a full member of International Association of Universities (IAU) and the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW). Additionally, EUL is a member of American Council on Education (ACE) and the UK National Academic Recognition Centre (UKNARIC).

EUL is also a full member of various international organizations such as IAU, ACE, UK NARIC and FUIW. In addition, European University of Lefke (EUL) achieved great success scores by scoring the highest point among the TRNC universities in the evaluation conducted by QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), an international institution that rates higher education institutions.

European University of Lefke (EUL) has various partnerships, recognition agreements and memoranda of understanding with universities and partner institutions all over the world. EUL has a particular focus on strategic cooperation in research with universities and research institutions where collaboration extends not only to individual departments or research, but to the entire university focusing on joint research activities.

EUL has International institutional accreditations and specialised professional memberships as well as partnership with Universities in the United Kingdom, which currently covers various programmes and provides an opportunity for students to study under 3+1 or 2+2 arrangements from both EUL and University of Bradford; EUL and University of Salford.

 

EUL: STUDENT LIFE

At the beginning of 2010, the population was around 3,000 students, however by the beginning of the academic year of 2019-2020, this number has increased rapidly to 12,000 students from over 80 different countries.

Social & Cultural Centre

The Culture & Social Activity Centre has been specially designed to support factors of Learning, exploring and experiencing outside of a classroom. Each section of the centre uniquely coordinates personal development, thrives on improving the quality of student life and promotes student satisfaction. Social & Cultural Centre has 40 various student clubs and 23 student societies. All students are eligible for membership of any club and they can initiate new clubs within an established procedure.

Student events

As a modern and innovative higher education institution, EUL is proactive in giving students the opportunity to participate in artistic, creative, cultural and sporting events both on campus and in the local community. Our campus provides a 24/7 security environment between the tranquil blue of the Mediterranean Sea and beautiful green mountains.

Extracurricular activity is an essential part of campus life and the Student Clubs are organized by the student community to develop their individual skills, team work and the fulfilment of their social and cultural needs.

Office of Dean of Students

The role of EUL Dean of Students main mission is to assist our students in every step of their university life. The Student Services Unit aims to assess and evaluate written requests submitted by students and to provide clarification or assistance in overcoming a problem / difficulty they may face. Student Development and Psychological Counselling Centre’s mission is to support EUL students, staff, and their families in enhancing their strengths and developing their abilities to live successfully, grow, and learn in their personal and academic lives.

At EUL Campus students can find a library, computer centre, sport complex, book shop, various cafeterias, cinema, health centre and post office.

EUL: HOW TO APPLY TO EUL?

EUL has two admission intakes each academic year. The first intake is for the Fall Term (September) and the second intake is for the Spring Term (February). COSTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS

SCHOLARSHIPS

As a non-profit university, the European University of Lefke offers a wide range of scholarship opportunities that have become a great incentive for students.

The tuition package (tuition fees, registration fees, ID card, VAT & certificates) for undergraduate programmes with 75% scholarship per one term is $770 USD; associate and undergraduate programmes with 50% scholarship per one term is $ 1,470 USD; BPharm Pharmacy with 50% scholarship one term fee is $ 1, 995 USD and DDs Dentistry’s one term fee is $ 4, 495 USD. Graduate students are admitted to the Master’s programmes on a Master’s Tuition Package (tuition fees, registration fees, ID card, VAT & certificates) one term fee is $ 1, 100 USD. Postgraduate students are admitted to the PhD’s programmes on a Special Tuition Package (tuition fees, registration fees, ID card, VAT & certificates) for the entire programme is $ 8, 505 USD.

Studying aboard let alone studying at university might be nerve-racking as it is presumably your first time living away from your family. It is no doubt that a mixture of feelings will come into place however our accommodation facilities at EUL will give you an opportunity to enjoy independence in a comfortable and safe environment that feels like home. We have a high range of accommodation options for selections according to your preferences.

The majority of our students live in our residence halls which are just walking distance away from the place of study.

The residence halls offer a safe and good value accommodation with fellow students and are great places to make instant friends.  They are comfortable and peaceful which contribute to a safe environment.
